We have now joined the club of families with food allergies. Andrew had a reaction on Sunday where he started coughing, getting hives around his mouth, saying his throat was itchy, and having his face swell. It resolved with Benadryl but today we had a follow-up appointment with an allergist. He was testing and is severely allergic to cashews (which we suspected from Sunday), Hazelnuts, Black Walnuts, and Pistachios. We has been told to avoid all Tree nuts due to possibility of cross-contamination.

I hate the thought that this cute little boy will have to watch food ingredients for his entire life (only about 10% of kids outgrow their food allergies). At least this isn't a food that is hard too avoid like milk or eggs.
Todd is in Rochester with Markian, Catherine, and Isadora this week. He called last night to saw that Catherine fell out of a tree and hurt her wrist. He ended up taking her to the emergency room to get it checked and she has broken her wrist - a buckle fracture. She has an appointment with an orthopedist on Monday when she gets back home.

Catherine is a drama queen. She can turn a hang-nail into a catastrophe. My 2nd thought - after "the poor girl" - was "I'm glad I don't have to deal with her for a couple of days". I am such a horrible mother - lots of "bad mommy" points for me.
Andrew laid down next to my chair to wait for me to get done with this post so I could play with him. He fell asleep. Maybe I can get some "good mommy" points to cancel out the "bad mommy" points if I wake him up to play. Nah...I'll just let him sleep and get "good mommy" points later. I never like to wake up a sleeping kid.
