I was so excited to see email responses and two comments about my blog.
But then I read the comments and saw that one was from Mom telling me that she used tweezers to get the dried split pea out of my nose. Now why didn't I think about tweezers? At least it took until the fourth kid to happen - I think - it would be just like Markian to stick something up his nose and not tell me.
We have designated our Christmas tree as a houseplant. Many people have Ficus trees with the white mini lights - we just have a large artificial evergreen with multi-colored mini lights and bubble lights. Why should we go through all the trouble of packing up the ornaments, winding up the lights, and carrying everything to the basement? We would just have to bring it all up again in 10 months. Besides, there is already too much stuff in our basement and this would free up about 4 square feet.
We can even decorate it for different holidays. For Easter, I can hang Easter eggs. For Fourth of July, I can use Flags. For Halloween, I can cover it with a sheet and call it a ghost. I know this will work because my mother did it with the evergreen garland that she had hanging from the picket fence. She just changed the bows and kept it up all year.
Since I am not updating my blog daily, I'll leave you with a link to my favorite blog, Because I Said So. This is the blog that inspired me to view my family as a gift of laughter. This is also the blog that helps me remember that my house isn't that crazy. http://mom2my6pack.blogspot.com/2007/06/welcome.html
